Inter Info: 2/21/08

What’s up my dawgs? Hope life’s been treating you well up to this point, because this weekend, it seems as if we’re screwed. I’ll just get right to the point, the game this weekend can be found no where on T.V. It’s defiantly not on FSC, and I don’t think it’s on Rai International. (If someone can double check on that, it would be great. Thanks.) So, after talking to a few people very familiar with the underground world of crazy Asian streaming, I’ve found 2 sites that I hope will work. Both bet365.com (compliments of Kabir) and channelsurfing.net seem like the best options. Personally, I like bet365.com better. However, you will have to register to watch the game, but it’s short and free. I haven’t used the site before, so I’m not sure how good the quality is or if it even works. If you don’t like it, there’s always inter.it. In other news, some dude found a pretzel that he thinks is shaped like the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus. He has been holding it for three years, and has put it on ebay. Within the first hour the bidding rose to $1,000. Good spending decisions, and people wonder why our economy is worse than Mogadishu’s. Here’s your daily fix. (Or $1,000 pretzel.)

—-> Mancini must really hate airports. The first time it was with a few drunken Brits, but now this? Our own Nerazzurri faithful? According to reports it was a fan who started the “fight”. “When were you preparing to bring on Suazo?” , one fan proposed. Mancini answered, “What did you say?”. Then, they both basically swore their asses off at each other. I understand every one’s pissed, but it was our first loss in five moths. What did everyone expect, to never lose a game again? I know it’s hard to adjust to this lifestyle, but it was going to come sooner or later. Mancini has done a great job, yeah, he should of brought in Suazo, but we shouldn’t call for his head because he didn’t bring in Davey.

—-> Ibra wants to attack. He said that he still believes Inter are a better team than Liverpool. When asked if they should play a 4-3-3 for the second leg, he replied, “This is a decision that Mancini has to make.” But, he did say this, “We must score at least two goals. There are two things we have to execute. The first is to attack because our game is made to attack, not to defend.” Personally, I believe he’s saying that he felt Mancini put out to much of a defensive side at Anfield. I agree, but you can’t blame him. An away leg is always a scary thing, so you can’t criticize Mancini for thinking defensive. However, I do agree with Ibra that on the return leg we must be an offensive force. Obviously. I am also warming up to the idea of a possible 4-3-3.

—-> The media are trying to get all they can out of Ibra vs. Matrix Round I. Their saying that recent comments by Ibra (see yesterdays post) has caused some tension for everyone in the club. Recently, the team was at a media function in London, but Ibra and Matrix refused to speak to each other. Reportedly, this was an embarrassment for everyone at the function. I’m calling bullshit. Both of these guys hate to lose (Ibra may not have shown that at Anfield, but he’s an intense competitor.), so I don’t think they would let such a thing get in the way of winning. Also, the Matrix hasn’t said anything back yet. Knowing this guy, if it was anything serious, he would of already laid out Ibra after training.

—-> 19 year-old Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic of Schalke, has confirmed contact from Inter. (Read here as well.) In 20 games, he has 2 goals and five assists. That’s nothing amazing, but Inter seem to really like his general play. I haven’t seen him play, ever. So I can’t comment on it. But if anyone out there has seen him play, please, be my guest.

—-> Here’s the disciplinary situation for this weekends game verses Samp.

Other sites you can use are MyP2P.eu, they have good links (usually the same ones as other live-streaming sites) and ESPN360.com, if you’re on a college campus/military base it’s free without registration. Bet365 works great, but not for Americans.

I am very biased as a Juve fan, and subsequently as an anti-Ibra person, but I think he really did do this. Even at Juve he never really had class (I’ll even admit J. Zanetti is a classy player, so it’s not just that he’s a Nerazzurro) and part of the Inter loss was his fault, he was completely absent from the game. Ibra is a good player, but he’s got something psychological against big games. Even at Juve he was always pretty goal-shy for us in the CL and such.

I think Ibra really did a dumb thing for blaming it on Materazzi, who was not at fault for a really bad refereeing job.

I’m still bitterly disappointed at what happened on Tuesday not mainly because of the defeat but at the way we went down. Honestly, I agree with Mancini that had we played with 11 vs 11 it would’ve been a different story but I have to criticize him for the way he managed the game. I mean haven’t we been in similar situation 3 times in the last few games?! I just can’t understand why Mancini panicked in this game by abandoning his courageous approach whenever we were reduced to ten men both in the league and Coppa Italia game!
Unfortunately, the champions league is not the place where you can learn from your mistakes as you’re not allowed to commit any if you want to continue till the very end and it seems that Mancio still hasn’t realized that.
I think that he should’ve brought in Maniche and Suazo in place of Cruz and Stankovic who both were out of sorts right from the start. We need a player like Maniche to liven up the midfield and keep possession as long as we could and Suazo would’ve lend a hand to Ibrahimovic up front and could’ve at least made Liverpool defense work a bit. Anyway, all this is in the past now.
For the return leg all what I’m looking for is a display of pride and a fight till the end. In my opinion, we only have a 10% chance of making it through and we have nothing to lose; so I hope Inter will put a heroic performance to restore our faith and belief.

Alessio- I know you said that bet365 isn’t good if you’re in America, but I was watching the Everton UEFA Cup game on it. Did I just get lucky or something?

Hussein- I agree that we should of brought in Suazo, but not Naiche. I think the best option for Stankovic would of been Figo.

Mancini abandoning his corageous approach? Certainly not in this game. He got his tactics all wrong from the start. He should have gone straight for Liverpool who have been playing so poorly for 2 months. Their confidence is at an all time low and an early goal and it would have been game set and match.

Ill take Ibra if those guys are gonna fight, but knowing Moratti he will more likely be rid of his only Italian national team for the sake of Ibra…

sigh…at least today was better than yesterday.

we need to hit sampa for 5. i will accept nothing less. either that or test their goalie 20+ times. i want ibra to answer his critics with a hat trick and i want him to hug materazzi after each goal too. he needs his confidence back. sorry to say, but cruz needs to be a substitue again. he’s lost his sharpness. suazo right now has the hot foot.

You did? Whenever I’m in the US, even under an Italian registration (my cousin :) ) it says “This video is not available on your area” for pretty much everygame. Awesome if you got it to work, did you do anything special?

kirby- The pain is getting better as the days go on. As much as you, I would love to 5 at Samp, that would make me feel great. Ibra must answer, and I think Suazo should, and will start.

Alessio- No, just registered and clicked live streams. I tested it out on the Everton game, but that’s it, but everything went well. Maybe I just got lucky with that one game?

You can download a program to mask your IP and log in from a different country…. I do that sometimes and bet365 works with no problem. i used it for the inter/udinese opener because i was on the road and also the italy match at the ukraine.

Thanks for the reference and goodluck with bet365. I also thought I’d add my 2 cents on the Liverpool game. While my gut reaction was similar to most (ie attack more, bring on Suazo after the red etc), after giving it some more thought I think the mistake was not taking off Cruz for a defender earlier. When a team plays 10 vs 11, they get more tired. Simple as that. Seeing as we clearly weren’t planning on attacking, there was no point in having two strikers and it would have made more sense I think to take off Cruz and bring on maybe Burdisso or Maniche/Vieira (moving Maxwell to left back, Chivu and Cordoba in the middle). That way we may have stayed focussed with some extra energy in those crucial last 10 minutes. And yes, should definitely have taken off Ibra for Suazo with 25-30 minutes left.

    Forza Inter.

Mike- Sounds like a good idea, got a link? Not sure if I’m going to need it, because yesterday everything worked fine. I’m going to test it out again today.

Kabir- Yeah, I think playing for the 0-0 tie would of been a better idea. Cruz was doing shit any ways. But the past is the past.

K, so I am finally over Tuesday. Not much we can about it. We have two pretty big matches coming up sunday and wednesday. I believe these matches will be atest of character to Inter. Its very important they remain focused and mercilessly beat the shit out of both teams ;)

Both games will be tough. As far as TV I think we are screwed for live coverage. Too bad. Inter/Samp games are usually good too and personally I see it as a much better fixture than Roma/FIO which they are showing, no bias I swear. In Canada, the game will be aired @ 11:00am (EST) on TLN.

As for the Rakitic kid… Liverpool and the Conigli Bianconeri are interested in him as well. I Don’t know much about him.

Yeah, getting over tuesday is the first step to rehabilitation. (sp?) ;)

These two upcoming games are huge, not only is it a test of our character, but they can also really boost our confidence.

Yeah, I double checked all possible channels, and nothing. Seems like bet365 is the best option, if it works. I’ll test it out again today, and let you guys know if it’s all systems go.

I finally watched the video. Yes, a great player, but the ity-bitty tiny shorts were a bit distracting.

    Yikes
