I think he took that pk in Siena not because he wanted to be the center of attention, but because he wants to prove he still has something to offer. He has been struggling horribly this year and I think it has really put him on edge. I hope this summer will give him some time to rest and try to get his form back. I dont think he will see much Euro time - and he has acknowledged that it may well be time for him to retire from the Azzurri. My feelings for Materazzi are in no way rational. I know he plays with 100% passion for club or country, but he is too driven by his ego (a reason why you left out Zlatan). I mean, Matrix always wants to be the centre of attention. This shows that all he is worried about is his glory and I don't think he would be a big loss to the team, he's not even good anymore following his injury against Hungary!
