Sure, it is only the Trofeo TIM at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, that tinpot trophy which involved three teams playing forty-five minute matches which must produce a result. They are all the vogue in fashion-conscious Italy, but this one has been going for a number of seasons now.
It is arguable how serious the players and coaches take these competitions, while us fans are usually non-plussed. However, the Trofeo TIM began tonight with Inter beating Juve 5-4 on penalties, after a 0-0 draw in their forty-five minute fanny-about. It was a mish-mash of a team fielded by Mancini, but who cares? Bragging rights are with Inter for now…
