Im not that concerned with the result because we created so many chances. Ibra finally got a tap in but he should have had a hat trick. We missed Maicon, Stankovic, and even Adri. I think our only chance in Europe is if Adri pulls it together for at least a couple months. He allows Ibra that extra space that could make the difference.

Im concerned about Mario's attitude. At his age there is no excuse for not training with full intensity. He should feel privileged to be in the squad and be doing everything possible to impress Mou. He might have potential but he hasnt proved anything.

Johonna, I think after 8 straight wins, we are "allowed" to have a draw once in a while... The good points:

1. We still created tons of chances, even without Adriano, Balotelli, Maicon and Stankovic
2. Unlike the Tinkerman (and Felipao at Chelsea), Mou isn't shy to make offensive changes once we go down (what the hell, if you're going to lose anyway, might as well go down fightin')
3. Crespo had a good game
4. Aquafresca had a good goal and he didn't celebrate (and later said he wants to prove his worth to Inter). Also, he "misses" a sitter, ensuring we don't lose
5. No refereeing "favors" for us (Mancini's goal ruled out for offside)
6. Ibra finally had a tap in
7. You found a great high quality highlights video on YouTube
8. We have players like JZ, Cambiasso, Muntari and Chivu who can shift positions during a match

But even after saying all that I agree with Paolo that unless we get a top striker to partner Ibrahimovic we're done in Europe, yet again!

So we have the call-up list for the game tomorrow - not as different as one might think from Saturday's game. I will get a preview up tonight.

Ursus, Fiorentina will just have to bounce back by beating the stuffing out of Milan then Juve!

I believe! Fiorentina in the UCL for 2009/10!

hehe ursus, yes me, a mild follower of the team who likes to see them do well. I can't imagine how upset you must have been. I am sure they can pull it together and find a spot in the top 4.

Just to correct myself, with a win Fiorentina could have leap frogged Milan putting Milan into 4th only 1 point ahead of Napoli.

I was little upset with the Viola yesterday. A win for them meant leap frogging Milan, putting them out of the top 4 and themselves into it. Giacomazzi's goal for Lecce was a beautiful one.

As for Inter. I had some uneasy feelings before Saturday's match. I was kind of expecting what we got. Aside from the finishing, I don't think we played too bad. We only got cut open and gave a away tons of chances after going to the highly offensive formation. Before our Prodigy (who I still say we need now) netted for the opposition, we were in no real danger of falling behind, but it happened. Other teams will not let us back into the game so easy.

The missed chances have been killing us all season. I know we have been over it tons of times before, but if we don't get a number 10 and at least one more good/effective striker we have NO CHANCE in Europe. We cannot afford to miss all these chances. If we can't find a way to finish then its another round of 16 exit. We cannot keep relying on our IF's or waiting for someone to find form or hope that someone has a good peformance. IF, come February, we have not made some adjustments, I fully expect us to bow out of Europe. We are too predictable up front right now. Defensively we are pretty good, averaging about a half a goal per game against but the attacking game needs to help the defense and provide that cushion by netting a few, especially the sitters.

It's weird to complain about not scoring goals or missing chances when Inter leads the league in Goals and averages 1.67 goals per game between the league and CL. But it is the clubs weakest attribute, along with moving the ball with creativity and ease through the final 3rd, and needs to be addressed. I don't think it is something that is going to fix itself.

If you were a neutral watching Saturday's game it should have been great entertainment wise. If you were like me, you weren't even able to sit and paced back and forth hoping that Inter would find away to net again while Cagilari missed chance after chance. It was gut wrenching.

Definitely could have been worse. See, e.g., the Viola at home against Lecce.

Cordoba is reportedly to be definitely out of the Coppa match (though not necessarily the game in Bergamo), and I would expect a rather different team against Genoa than the one that played Cagliari.

Inter are having their usual difficulties giving tickets away for this round of the Coppa (the start time of Tuesday night at 21h00 and sub-zero (Celsius) temperatures aren't helping).
