Allora Ragazzi, It is DERBY TIME!
By: Johonna | May 4th, 2008
First, let me say hello to everyone out there. Robert is MIA so I am going to write until he comes back. When that happens, hopefully we can share.
Second, I know this is very, VERY late, but I had a busy day and just now checked my email to find that I was okayed for the list.
So let’s get down to it.
We have, in our black-and-blue hands, the opportunity of a lifetime: we can kill 4 birds with one stone (as it were).
1) Clinch the Scudetto
2) Humiliate Milan
3) Keep Milan from the Champions League
4) Stick it to Rome once and for all
The game will be a difficult one for us. There is no getting around it. Pipo has been smokin’ hot and Pirlo is back in form. Still, we have the toughest defense in the league — check the chart, only 22 goals this year – and our forwards are looking pretty good too.
The call-up will be much the same as last week, with Marco starting instead of Burdisso (betcha).
I would go into a whole run-down of the squad, but by the time anyone reads this, the game will have started and everyone will know. Next time.
Who to watch:
As always, there is our unsung hero between the posts a Julio Cesar Soares Espindola.
He is hot hot HOT! And as you can see, he can fly!

Marco Materazzi — mostly because I just plain love him. Also, his form has improved greatly in the last month and he always gives his all on derby days. I suspect there will be some fireworks between Pipo and Marco before the game is done.
And of course, the golden boy Mario Balotelli. I also think Crespo will have a little of the old magic for us - but that is also because I love him.

Sorry it is so short and sorry for any errors with layout - this is my first time and all.
So for now, Forza Raggazzi! FORZA INTER!

I was wondering what happened to Robert. As much as I hate Inter, we cant have an Offside without an Inter blogger. Welcome aboard and FORZA MILAN

i dont think robert will have too much of a problem with this. i’m sure he knew it was gonna happen with him MIA for so long. and dont worry about the post Jo, its just great to not have to post on Cinema of the Day again lol.
its 0-0 right now, we’re defending well and organized but milan are still carving out opportunities. big surprise to see rivas in the centre with maxtrix. i’m not too sure why mancio did that. inzaghi is not that fast. i would have rather seen chivu partner maxtrix in the middle and maxwell start instead of rivas. i hope to see SuperMario soon. ok back to the game!!!
Forza US BABY!!!!! *fist pumps*

one of the worst Inter performances of the year.
Mancio’s starting line up made me want to barf… What a bad game. Inter needed to attack from the start and put the pressure on Milan not sit back deep and defend and let a desperate team take the play to you. His lack of confidence to try and win games by attacking is really getting on my nerves. You cant sit deep and defend against a team that has Kaka, Pirlo and Pippo for 90 minutes. Seedorf played well and Abrosini was Rock and the rest is history. Inter sat back and threw that game away. Disgusting.
I am very very pissed off with the way that match was played. The tactics were wrong, the players used were wrong and the teams attitude was bull shit.

ok time to eat this one apart.
i blame…nelson rivas on both goals. on the inzaghi’s goal he literally watched the ball pass his face and then looked all surprised when pipshit scored. for the kaka’s goal he is also to blame. with maicon caught up the field rivas just watched as vieria was put under heavy pressure. NO ONE CAN BLAME PATRICK FOR THAT GOAL. (sorry, just thought i should make that clear. lol) he didnt track back and give patrick an option. my boy got caught ball watching again.
what a nice goal by cruz though. perfectly placed.
*sigh* no big deal. we have 2 games in which to get 3 points. lets see what happens.

Its tough to say whether Mancio will be back or not. But he has to take full accountablilty for today’s loss. Its no secret he would have been happy with a draw. Wrong way to go about things. Mialn is very beatable.
And while Viera had no support options before setting up Milan pefectly for their 2nd goal, you cannot completely let him off the hook. When in doubt and in trouble you MUST play the ball to safety. He should have played that bll into touch… not keep trying to pussy foot with it, going backwards trying to make something out of nothing.
Complete disaster out there.

FORZA MILAN PER SEMPRE! The good guys take back the city!
Haha, now that I got that out of my system, just wanted to commend you guys personally for being classy and congratulating us over at the Milan Offside. Whatevs, it was a win-win at the San Siro in the long run for both teams I think. Unless some miracle happens, you guys will have earned the scudetto this year.

But yeah, not sure what on earth was up with your team today. Your uber-defensiveness, just sitting back for the chances to counter was really surprising. It made it so much easier for us to walk over them. Um…congrats on your only goal, I suppose? It really was disgusting, we couldn’t do anything.

paolo, while part of me sort of agrees with you on the vieria pussy-footing thing, i still believe that he’s really not to blame. usually you have an option, but there was none today. it was quite sad how things when out there today. but we still have 2 games. once we keep our heads on we’ll win it.
and congrats again Hana. the better team won today…

Thanks Hana.
The Cruz strike was nice but offers very little consolation…
I see what you mean about it being win/win but trust me, there is no Interista in the World who can be happy about today. Next week is another week though and Inter has to win it at home.

Thanks for the welcome. I think I must be cursed.

you’re not cursed my dear. we’re still in an absolutely fabulous position. and you said it yourself, the siena game wall be the decisive one. we’ll win it next week!

Completely caught up in my anger I totally forgot to congratulate you Johonna! Congrats! And no, you’re not cursed.
Hopefully you didn’t take my advice and get up to watch this thing live. Sleeping in was absolutely the way to go! But hindsight is 20/20 I guess. Awful match.

don’t worry, johonna, the day i joined was our totally undeserved loss to palermo. good to have you on board….like everyone else said, even if inter is evil, we need a blogger.
i half-assed watched the game but materazzi sucks. he may have been rediscovering his form but all that went out the window. makes me very worried about italy in euro2008.
kind of on the same note, are most inter fans italy fans? im honestly asking (not flaming) because of the lack of italians on your team, you dont have anyone really to cheer for.

Welcome Johonna. I’m glad we have someone to update the Inter Offside again.

Alessio, no not now we don’t aside from Materazzi. But this was not always the case and hopefully soon, it will no longer be the case.
I am very proud to support the Azzurri & Nerazzurri through good times and bad.

Johanna, a very warm welcome from the good guys of the San Siro.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. And yes, I also support the Azzurri. I guess I didn’t come to club football through the national team so it I am not looking for Azzurri players at Inter.
Really, it is the other way around. I am almost out of my mind that Julio Cesar and Maicon could be in Seattle at the end of the month - the Brazilian national team is coming (I have kick-ass tickets, thank you very much!) and I am hoping they will be called up.
I have something else up my sleeve for today, but maybe we will take up our “how I met my club” stories on Monday.
