At Least The Team Likes Rivas
By: Johonna | April 9th, 2009For whatever his faults, it looks like Nelson Rivas is at least popular with the team. I know, this is not big news, but I was so tickled by these photos from training yesterday that I just had to post them! Besides, what is the point of blogging if I cant use the forum to indulge myself?

Maxwell tries the new “tickle therapy” on Rivas.

Cuchu shows Maxwell the more preferred method of tickling a teammate. Deki hears that Cambiasso is handing out hugs and comes a runnin’.

Suddenly, with the involvement of Cuchu and Deki, the perfectly innocent therapy turns into a full-out pig pile on poor Rivas. (Note that Orlandoni, while not interested in tickles, seems to like pig piles just fine.)

With the pile complete, Bolzoni learns about the perks of training with the first team, while we get the added bonus of a nice photo of Deki (in the blue boots). Muntari seems to be thinking that this is not how they trained at Portsmouth.
Ah, good clean fun.
I love our team.

Yeah, those pictures made me feel rather happy too.

Very funny captions.
Udinese looks like it’s going home. 1-0 for Bremen in the 2nd half. Quags has had a few chances but Bremen already hit the crossbar before Diego scored.

Speaking of Adriano, his agent has said:
“Adriano and myself are in Brazil. I will be going to Italy on Monday to discuss Adriano’s future, but he will be staying here. It’s obvious that I can’t make any predictions, but I will just say that Adriano is under contract until halfway through next year.”
I wonder what Inter’s legal obligations are to Adriano. That is, do we still have to pay him while he lazes around his mothers house because he is still under contract?

i don’t think so. he is not fulfilling his part of the contract as his desire is the only reason he is not ready to play. he is not hurt or has not been banished by the team. if it were an american sport he definitely would not be getting paid, and i am assuming the same rules apply.

And now he up and quits. It is so sad. I guess, though, that quitting is actually sort of brave. I mean, he has the guts to walk away from all that money. To stop doing something he doesn’t like any more in the pursuit of some sort of happiness. I dont think I would be brave enough to quit my job like that.
I hope this brings him the peace he needs.
Poor Adriano.
On another note, the assault case against Mou has been dropped.

Brave? He’s a coward! Its easy to walk away from a few million when you’ve made as much as he has. How about at least fulfilling the contract? If you decide not to sign another one I can respect that, but the way he’s handling this is a joke. He’s spineless

On a personal level, I’m concerned about him and wish him the best. On a football level, I hope Inter will do something about that whole breach of contract thing.

whatever good and bad adriano has done, one cannot deny the fact that he was an exceptional striker when in flow.
Its sad to see another one bite the dust.
He is young and I hope he recovers with whatever the fuck is bothering him and comes back. For now So Long Adriano !

“We still need 15 points so our advantage isn’t decisive,” Mourinho warned.
“We can’t expect Juve to lose games. We have the chance to get 12 points at home – we can practically win the Scudetto in games at San Siro.
“The fans must understand that the job isn’t done yet and we need their support. I have never lost a championship in the last two months, but you can never say never.
“A week ago it looked like our advantage could be cut to five points, but instead it increased to nine. Tomorrow it could go from nine to six. Palermo will come to win and it will be an equal match.”
The Special One concluded by offering his condolences to the victims of the Abruzzo earthquake.
“We are all behind the victims and the families who have suffered such sadness and pain,” he stressed.
“In Abruzzo they don’t just need support for two days, they need help rebuilding their lives.”

Does anyone know what happened to Serie A TV, or if it will ever resume?
I am extremely annoyed that the Inter match is not going to be televised tomorrow. I hate being forced watch them on one of those sketchy streams.
Every channel is showing the Derby tomorrow. Usually they’d each show a different game. Fine, it’s a derby, but I am sorry… it’s a derby between 2 useless clubs and the outcome of the match is pretty much meaningless. There is a title race going on. The Genoa/Them match is on live, would it not make more sense to televise the other club who is involved in a title race?
Anyhow, just venting.

If you want to wait, FOX soccer channel is playing it at 6:00am on sunday.
But I hear what you are saying. The two capital teams… whose fans are too busy arguing who has more Coppa Italia trophies, if there is anything more sad… have absolutely nothing to play for.
I am praying for a sopcast channel.

Roma useless ? Blasphemy you’re talking about the greatest italian team witht he greatest italian players ever here my friend
Waaah you’re right though regardless of whatever is going on the team that occupies the top spot should have its games shown week in and week out

Well, if Sunday was not easter, it would not be a problem. So far, every other Inter game has been shown on tv – most of them live.

It would be very difficult for me to wait to watch the game. I’d need to be in the know as it is happening. It’s almost impossible for me to watch a sporting event after it has been played knowing that what I am watching has already happened, especially if I catch wind of the result.
This of course only applies to games that matter to me, or matter period. I could, per say, watch the tomorrow’s derby on tape delay, but not Inter. If there were no other options I would have no choice but to watch the delay but I am assuming there will some sort of stream, I just really hope there is a decent one.
I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that Inter-Palermo will not be shown live on any channel.

haha I hear you Johonna. That is tough to do and I do feel for everyone on the west coast. 9:00 is pushing it for me some Sunday mornings so I don’t even want to try to imagine 6:00am.
I guess it would not be to bad to DVR it and wake up and watch it right away, but there is no option for that tomorrow… **Boo’ing broadcasters!**

The Palermo offsides has put up the Inter – Palermo preview and a something made me laugh and I wanted to share.
This is the second complete sentence:
“Anyways, the One Italian-team is our opponent tomorrow, at the unholy hour of 3 o’ clock on a Saturday afternoon.”This is the guess-itmate starting 11 a few paregraphs down:
“Toldo; Santon, Cordoba, Samuel, Chivu; Zanetti, Muntari, Cambiasso; Stankovic; Balotelli, Ibrahimovic”I just found that f’n funny. It’s something “Toothless” Chris at the Roma board might do.
Another question, why did they not put our current form up?
Besides, will this be a tryout for Kjaer? Might be worth checking out…

In other news, Galliani, who you might remember as the former officer of the FIGC who was forced to retire due to Calciopoli and was rewarded for his criminal ways by being put “in charge” (we know who is really in charge of Milan, right?) of Milan, offers up some tears and excuses as why Milan couldn’t take advantage of being given a zillion penalty shots this season and is fighting to stay in 3rd place in the League:
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/apr10k.htmlPersonally I hope that every fan of Milan including those in charge of the “other” Milan team believe what he says. the longer they delude themselves the longer they fight for fourth place, the longer I enjoy my weekends.

We wish him the best. Mourinho’s handling was mature and respectful of the player.
Contrast it, for instance to the way Steve Bruce handled the Zaki no-show situation — which may be an example like the Mutu|Chelsea situation where the club is thinking of itself.
