MAD, thank you for posting this. I thought about saying something in my next post, but, frankly, I was having too much fun with the training photos. I tried to fix your link but it is still broken. Would you repost it?
Thanks.

For those that don't know, July 18, would have marked the 66th birthday of Giacinto Facchetti if he had not died 2 years ago on September 4th 2006.

Facchetti was a forward his whole life and he was pretty good until he was seen by THE WIZARD Helenio Herrera. Those of you who have heard of La Grande Inter know that under HH and Giacinto, Inter had perhaps the greatest period of success that any team ever had in Serie A.

Facchetti, under the tutelage of The Wizard, changed positions from forward to left full back trusting on the genius of Helenio.

It worked out pretty well. He won 4 Scudetti, 1 Italian Cup, 2 European Champions Clubs Cup (Champions League Forerunner), and 2 Intercontinental Cups (I think this is now the World Club Cup). He was a part of his (and my) beloved Inter for almost TWENTY YEARS. 476 appearances. 59 goals from the left full back position.

He was also captain of the Azzurri for 70 times out of just over 90 caps. Only 3 players have ever had more appearances. That solo European Championship that Italy has? He was on the team for that Tournament in 1968. He played on 3 WC teams, including the 1970 WC team that made the finals and lost to Brazil 4-1.

Oh, yeah. He was only sent off once in his whole international career.

If that was all he did, he would still be considered one of the greatest Italian footballers ever.

When he retired he stayed with his beloved Inter as an executive and worked as a part of his Inter in many capacities. He was elected President in 2004. He died in 2006 of cancer of the pancreas.

You will never find another Inter player to ever wear the Number 3 shirt. It is and always will be Facchetti's shirt. Tu sei tutto quello che. Everything a man should be.

I don't think Inter are getting Da Costa, certainly not for Burdisso even up.

Solari is definitely gone.

I guess Dacourt has one more year on contract. But I mean, I put him, Figo and Viera in the same boat... that is not in Inter's long range plans.

I think that we are sending Burdisso to Fiorentina for Da Costa (Who I know very little about, I guess I'll have to wiki him...):

http://www.transfermarketweb.com/index.php?action=read&idsel=20930

I had read something about Samp being close with Crespo:

http://www.transfermarketweb.com/index.php?action=read&idsel=20849

Suazo thinks that he's staying:

http://www.transfermarketweb.com/index.php?action=read&idsel=20718

That's all I got, Kirby. Others may have more and more reliable. Take all of this with a grain of salt

Look at the intensity on the face of Mourinho, I love Carletto and he is a great coach, but this guy just plain motivates you even in pictures. I dont even remeber the last time Carletto looked motivated...
