I'm also confused as to how the players you've mentioned would fit into a 4-4-2. Even considering Mancini and Quaresma as midfielders, you would still have five. The Curva Nord was less full than we've seen it at any time in the last three years, and Inter often seemed as if they hadn't played together before. Stankovic was particularly poor, and Ibra had one of those games where he spent almost as much time sulking as he did creating chances. Muntari started brightly, and then made many too many poor passes and decisions; Balotelli was also very up and down. And then there was their goal, which came (yet again) from a complete breakdown in communication in central defence. Thank goodness for Maicon, Zanetti, Cambiasso and Julio Cesar (especially at the end). Adriano was also impressive for his commitment to the cause and willingness to work for the team.
