I ♥ Julio Cesar

By: Johonna | November 11th, 2009

ITALY-SOCCER/
And he loves us back. Well, he loves Inter. Well, he is “very happy” at Inter. Whatever. He is staying and that is all that matters. Yep, Julio Cesar Soares de Espindola has signed a contract extension with F.C. Internazionale Milano until June 30, 2014. What a wonderful gift after the crappy weekend football results (for both my teams :( )

I dont think it is any secret that I have a serious crush on Julio Cesar – especially now that I need someone to shower all my extra Zlatan love onto. And even better, now I get to love him potentially for 5 more years! After signing his contract extension, JC said:

“And now I want to celebrate with many more victories. I am very happy and I thank president Moratti and the whole club. I have already won a lot with Inter, but our strength is the work we are doing to win a lot more.”

Not much, but so long as he stays, I dont care because besides being a phenomenal goal keeper (thanks Kirby):

he is also super hunky:

Julio is a dirty boy!

Plus, he clearly waxes… everything.

with a beautiful wife and family.

And his hot wife Susana Werner (although I think this is from her Ronaldo days)

And one more of Susana. After all, I must entertain and inform.

Plus, he always seems to have a smile on his face.

Julio Cesar or Kaka – I’d take JC any day

PORTUGAL SOCCER
He even gets his teammates smiling – even if they dont really want to.

And he seems like a great person:

JC and Adriano with the Brazil NT
No matter what, he has always been there for Adriano.

ITALY SOCCER SERIE A
He even made sure that Adriano was at our Scudetto celebrations, if only in our hearts.

Not that he isn’t competitive. He loves to win as much as the next guy.

JC After Inter beat Milan
Whether it is against Milan or Juve (at the top of the page).

He is all-around an amazing keeper, person, and teammate. I cant think of a single person I would rather have in goal (not even San Gigi) and we are very very very fortunate to have him. Lets hope he stays for ever!

Julio Cesar and Zanetti hug during our win against Siena.
On behalf of all of us, here is a great big hug for Julio Cesar from the Inter Offside Board.

FORZA INTER

Did I mention he has cute toes? Well he does!

Great news — our most technically gifted player is staying on.

But lest we all get too warm and fuzzy today, did you guys SEE this shit?

JC! What can I say that hasn’t already been said? As a keeper, terrific reflexes and his decision making has improved so consistently over the years, its unbelievable how good he’s become. For me, he’s been number 1 in the world for the past 3 years, whatever FIFA or the Ballon d’Or committee may say. The beautiful part about a great keeper is that they age like fine wine. Sad for Viviano that he’s not going to wear the #1 gloves at Inter for a while, since JC is only going to get better with time.

But apart from the football aspect, JC is a wonderful wonderful man, who wears his heart on his sleeve, and like MAD mentioned, isn’t afraid to show his emotions in front of 80,000 fans and millions more on TV. When he was subbed off against Siena end of last season, the whole stadium gave him a fitting ovation, and he burst into tears at that, thumping his heart all the while. Unfortunately, the cameras were focused on Ibra the whole time. Here’s the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJCNv4hR2Qc

My favourite JC save was last season against Man Utd, in the 1st leg. Rooney broke clear of our defence and was 1v1 with JC, who had to run outside the box to narrow the angle. JC pulled off one of the most intelligent tackles I have ever seen, skillfully prodding the ball off Rooney’s stride with his foot. If he hadn’t got the timing on that perfectly, he’d have been sent off. But that’s what makes the difference between a good keeper and a world-class keeper. See that save here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS8Jf98FoIE at 5:19.

FYI, there’s a pretty well maintained unofficial YouTube channel for JC called juliocesarfans: http://www.youtube.com/user/juliocesarfans

Oh, one more thing, now that Drew brought up Ibra. Ibra once said that JC is the most skillful keeper he’s ever seen, and that he could play anywhere on the field and still be a great player. There’s that Samba magic in JC’s feet too, but he’s one of those blessed Brazilians who have magic hands as well as feet. God, I wish I had those genes! :D

our inter play more like a team nowadays compared last season when we have ibra. yup he done a lot of good thing for us last few years but it doesn’t mean we need to totally upset over his departure.soccer is a team play not a single handed one man show. i love to see us win in nou camp :) then ibra later on will ask mourinho `any vacancy left in yor team boss? i want to win CL’ hehe. just joking around ;)

“Daniele Galloppa has been heavily linked with Inter, but the Italian international is in absolutely no hurry.

“Could I go to Inter in future? I’d love it, as I am an Inter fan, but right now all I want to do is improve at Parma.”

HerMaN: There is a story on FC Inter News from La Gazzetta: http://www.fcinternews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=10400

It basically says that he could come in January and start training with the first team. Then, In the summer, when he turns 18, he would be registered with the club. He wouldn’t/can’t play with the first team until the summer.

    gud morng guys

i was in a discussion with some friends last nite n we were looking at the trend of young coaches in the game(dunga, ferrara, leonardo, conte and blanc to be precise).

i imagine dunga will leave the selecao next summer after the world cup and i was thinking in the event that mourinho leaves in the summer as well what do u think of having dunga as the next inter coach or would u prefer zenga?

    @ned lowe,

I support both inter and brazil. I really like what dunga is doing with the brazilian national team and he is a great coach but that does not mean that he will be great if he manages a club. its a totally different game. (for example look what happened to klinsman, he was great with germany, but he did not do well with bayren.

As for mourinho, believe me he wont go anywhere in the summer, he will stay until the end of his contract (end of 2013/2014) because no club in the world would pay him what we are paying him which is 11 million/year (well bakhtakor from uzbakistan are paying scolari 13 million/year) on top of that he has a say in everything – transfers, youth, training facility.

Yeah, I don’t think Mourinho is going anywhere next summer. Money aside, he won’t want to leave the team that he’s in the midst of rebuilding – not until he’s won some major trophies with it.

Are you guys aware of this? International Football Federation of History and Statistics has ranked Roma at 12th, Juve at 16th, and our Inter at 19th positions in the world. That makes Roma numoro uno in Italy. http://www.footballitaliano.co.uk/article.aspx?id=658
Something for us to ponder over.

There is not much to ponder. Much like the FIFA World Ranking system for Internationals, these IHHFS rankings are complete crap and actually mean nothing.

I’m with Alii on the coaches issue. There’s no way we’re ’sacking’ Mourinho till his contract expires. Moratti has had one bad experience with Mancio that way, and he’s paying Mourinho twice of that.

But eventually, I’ve already mentioned once before would like Zenga to replace Mourinho when the time comes. I think he has exactly the kind of character and passion to take us forward, and within a few years, he should have enough Serie A experience as well. On the downside, he won’t have any proven CL track record, but he has to start somewhere. I also recall Johonna vociferously protested against it. :)

For the first time, it seems like someone has a very sensible agent. Santon’s agent seems like a good guy – said that he knows Inter fully believes in Santon and that he’s just going through a rough psychological patch. Poor kid is drowning with the pressure of expectations, and he’s not as big-headed as Balotelli to take the pressure head-on and come out on top.

You have to hand it to B45 though, right? He’s had a huge amount of pressure on him, and big expectations since he was 17. Add to that all the racism from the stands, media blasting, targeted attacks from every defender in the country, its actually pretty stunning how he deals with all this and still does magic for us in almost every game.

    And How about this!

    Are you an Inter Fan?
Are you in or near London?
Do you want to be in a commercial?

We’re looking for the most emotional, charismatic fans that were there that night…. or watching somewhere else wishing they were there. Do you think you could re-live those moments for this commercial? Are you unafraid of the cameras and prepared once more to punch the air, hug your mates, dance and sing just like you did the night your team won….or perhaps even show how devastated you were the night your team lost.

It is shooting 25 and 26th of November. Fans will only be needed for one day and they will be paid £100 in cash on the day, with the chance of earning an extra £100 if they are selected to be featured in it.

It is filming at the Millwall football ground.

I can see a loan for Santon, but that would leave us very thin at the back… unless Mourinho wants to put Mancini back to his old position of fullback.
