Inter Info: 1/25/08
By: robert | January 25th, 2008Last post before my vacation. It’s okay, don’t cry. I’ll be back.
After looking, I realized there’s not too much stuff. Except a death threat to Moratti and the usual goal.com bullshit transfer speculations, here . Also, another goal.com transfer speculation. However, this one may be true, because I heard something about it on Sky Sports Today. Here ya’ go.
So, as a last post, let’s do nicknames. In my last post I gave Cruz the nickname, The Silent Bomber. (TSB for short.) So, I figured, why not have a nickname for everyone. We don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Goalkeepers
Julio Cesar
Francesco Toldo (I was going to use Old Man River for ‘Cesco, but I see that Chris has already taken that one.)
Defenders
Nicolas Burdisso
Cristian Chivu
Ivan Cordoba
Douglas Maicon
Marco Materazzi
Nelson Rivas
Walter Samuel
Javier Zanetti
Midfielders
Esteban Cambiasso
Aparecido Cesar
Olivier Dacourt
Vitor Hugo Gomes Passos (Pelé)
Luis Jimenez
Madeira Figo
Maniche
Scherrer Maxwell
Santiago Solari
Dejan Stankovic
Patrick Vieira
Forwards
Mario Balotelli
Hernan Crespo
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
David Suazo
This should keep you busy until I get back. And if not, well, then spin around really fast until you can’t walk anymore.

Ah robert who will be covering the games in your absence! I’m willing to help out if you want
While TSB is a good nickname and absolutly true, Cruz is already known as El Jardinero, or Giardenero in Italian.
Most of the players on the team also already have “official” nicknames either obtained early in their career or through the fabulous commentaria of Scarpini on Inter Channel.
Even though I don’t like some of the nicknames, Inter fans still have to stick to them for sentimental reasons.

Ehsan- I do understand that most players already have “set” nicknames, but I thought that it would be a good creative exercise to make up our own just for theoffside.

I have a (personal) nick name for Cruz: The Surprise Package (TSP). I saw him play for Bologna for years, and thought, “What a waste! I can play better than that guy in front of goal.” So, as you can imagine, I was extremely disappointed when he joined Inter. But the Gardener transformed himself into a lethal striker, The Surprise Package.
Another thing I liked about him recently is that when they asked him who were his candidates for Ballon D’Or winner (before Kaka was announced), he included himself! What self-confidence! Bravo!! Why not? He should be recalled in Argie national team (maybe even in place of Crespo).

Mancio has instilled steel in the squad. Otherwise, we could not even think of beating the Old Lady without our 2 best players (Ibra & Cambi) in their own backyard a couple of years ago. Well done!

Woo Hoo! we did really well today! I am especially proud of (Super) Mario Balotelli. Lets see, he has 4 goals in Serie A, that is 1 more that the wonder duck Pato.
Once again, Toldo KICKED ASS. That free kick by Del Piero was dead on - he totally deserved that goal. The second was, perhaps, a small hole in our defense. And I still dont understand why players (sometimes) get carded for taking off their shirts.
If only we could cut down on the dreaded Ammoniti. At least we kept a full squad today.

WoW! What a win and all the youngsters and the newcomer did great.
Pele,SuperMario,Maniche
Balotelli showed such good composure in front of the Goal it was refreshing. But to start the move it was such a wonderful
pass from maniche. He has settled all too well now.
Toldo was superb too.Posted from

Just a correction on one of the names your line-up:
Luis Figo his whole name is Luis Filipe Madeira Caeiro Figo,
not Madeira Figo.Posted from

Argh! 10 men again (stupid !#@$% Viera)! and another dubious foul. The only saving grace was that what really won the game was Julio Cesar’s wonderful save.

Player of the match Cesar. Can we please finish a game with 11 players. Pretty boring game to watch besides the nice saves from the keeper.
