Inter Info: 2/13/08
By: robert | February 13th, 2008What’s up my dawgs? Nothing really much going on today, except that it’s been raining for 10 hours straight, and it sucks. I’m not sure how people live in Seattle all year round. It’s a very nice place, don’t get me wrong (I visited there about 4 months ago), but there’s way too much damn rain. Someone had previously commented about the weather in Seattle, so I’m guessing your from there. I forgot who it was, but I give a grade A bravo to that person for putting up with all that damn rain. In other news, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates slipped on a patch of ice yesterday and fractured his shoulder. This annoys me in two ways, a) if the man can’t even walk without causing destruction, how can he defend our country. b) he brings complete and utter disgrace to the name Robert. Thanks asshole. Here’s you daily fix. (Or patch of ice, if your names Robert. Best be staying away from those today.)
—-> Much like Carlo, Pat Walsh is retarded as well. (I mean mentally challenged.) There must be some sort of disease going around the office or something. I mean seriously, is this guy crazy. When news broke that FIFA President Sepp Blatter was weighing the possibility of playing WC 2010 on artificial turf, I cried. Now this guy is applauding it?!?!? The game is meant to be played on grass. The ball bounces differently, slide tackling is brought to a minimum, passing and shooting is much different, it’s just an all around different game. Please, just play on grass, where the game belongs.
—-> Julio Cesar is trying to use reverse psychology. Smart tactic, Julio The Cat Gaffney. (Yes, I did just make Cesar’s official nickname Julio The Cat Gaffney. And yes, it’s because I love the Mighty Ducks. JTCG for short.) You see what he’s trying to do, don’t you? Giving Dida compliments, making him look good. JTCG wants to see him back in net, because he knows how much he really sucks. Always thinking on your toes JTCG.
—-> The Matrix is calling Catania’s bluff. Good for him, because it’s bullshit. According to the Matrix, he did not refuse the call-up. “They say that I have refused the summons. Even for this game I responded to the call of the coach, I stayed at the hotel with my team-mates. I did everything to be in Zurich but then with Donadoni, who I have a special relationship, we decided with the doctors that it was not appropriate to attempt a forced recovery.” And I believe him. He gave so much to the national team during the World Cup, how could anyone question his motivation? I mean, the guy will loose a leg to play for the Azzurri. Seriously, “I played against the Faroe Islands and Lithuania even though I was not fit. I almost lost a leg [against Hungary last August], and I was proud to do so.” See, I told you.
—-> Suazo finally speaks out. You never hear this guy say anything in the media, good or bad. Add this to his great performance against Catania, and this guy is really climbing up my list quickly.
—-> Super Mario is a man among boys. He scored 2 goals in the final of the prestigious Viareggio youth tournament. He could of completed a hat-trick, and won the game, but the crossbar had other ideas. Great news for Super Mario and Inter, our youth team is continuing to grow. Bravo boys, bravo.
Video of the Day
Since yesterdays picture of the day was surprisingly a tribute to Il Capitano, I’ve also devoted video of the day to him as well. That’s right, 2 days for Capitano.
Yup, he has two videos. That’s the type of treatment you get when your the man.

am surprised you didnt mention TSB’s comments in the media today. you know when julio gets dragged into a war of words things are really heated.

It was me. I live in Seattle, and today the weather is great. No rain, sunny skies, and almost 50 degrees. You just missed out.

You know, I dont care what anyone says, Matrix is one of my very favorite players. I dont think he is a dirty player – he is just very passionate. I respect that. As for his instigating remarks to zidane, psychology is part of the game. If a player is so stupid as to let a little trash talk affect their performance on the pitch, they deserve to loose.
Oh, and I am glad to see our players rallying against this whole “Inter Cheats” whiney-baby bullshit. If there is some impropriety with Refs, show me the evidence. Show me the phone transcripts (Juve), or the watches (Roma), or the betting slips (Bologna).

kirby- Yeah I actually just saw that, sorry I forgot to put it in.
Johonna- Damn, the one nice day in the C and I miss out. As for the Matrix, I feel exactly the same way. he is so passionate about the game, it’s great.
Any comments on Cesar’s new name??

Oh and by he way, I just saw the goals from Milans 1-1 draw with Livorno today (hahaha, they suck) and there was a very questionable penalty call. However, I’m a bit confused, why is no one complaining.
They must be cheating, right? So, c’mon everyone, where are you? Oh yeah, I forgot, it’s not Inter. Stupid me.

the handball was rather obvious…

Sorry, Robert, as much as I love you (and Inter), I have to agree with Shehan – it was a handball. Vidigal had his hands up and as he was falling over Ronnie, he hit the ball with his hands.
What really impressed me about the game was Amelia. I have high World Cup hopes of him.
So, What are we going to take away from this so we can kick their Tuscan asses on Saturday?

Yeah sure the hand ball was rather obvious. but why does no one cry and complain that it was involuntary? It was as involuntary as it gets. The defender anticipated going into an air challenge with Ronaldo but that fatso’s knee finally buckled beneath him. His hands were up to brace the challenge, but Ronaldo never made it up for the challenge. Would it not be considered involutary like the one everyone cried, wrote articles about, questioned the ref about, or re-wrote a table for in the Inter Parma match?
Yeah I didn’t think so. Only when Inter when it happens to Inter is considered controversial. Hypocrits
Ronaldo actually earned them the point. If he had not crushed his knee that penalty would never have got called.Posted from

by the way i am not complaining that it shouldn’t have been called. I am just making a point becasue if the shoe was on the other foot, a lot of people would have had shit fits.

Johonna- Thank you for the love.
The point I was trying to make, was basically covered by Paolo. What is no one aruging that it was involuntary? I’m not disputing(sp?) the call, but as Paolo said, that did look rather involuntary.

Robert,I was complaining about the call !
don’t forget you guys drew us as well early on this season, and that was in the Fernando Orsi days, so Inter’s draw is actually worse than Milan

Thanks for speaking out Marco, I appreciate it. But your still always looking to stick Inter under the rug, aren’t you?

Marco, were you not upset that Trez was offside for the 1st goal scored in the Ritorno (week 20)? Just asking.
Inter were in that slow start funk 1st time around… no excuses though. Saturday we get a chance at redemption! @ home!

I am a Romanista/Livornese true, but i do root for the Italian team in Europe (except Lazio, they don’t count)
i wasn’t knocking on Inter, i was defending Livorno’s seasonPaolo, That Trez goal was completely offside, but i can’t start complainig everytime there’s a bad call, cause i’d never shut the fuck up.
seeing how this is valentine’s day, even as Inter fans, you could all appreciate the romance of Livorno beating Inter for the 1st time this year, and at home.
That would be awesomely unexpected !
You’d still be 5 points ahead, would help us out and makes for a great season end…

i meant Livorno’s honour , not season

haha fair enough.
I expect to see the best of every team until we fall this season. Every team wants to be the one that says “WE BEAT THEM!”
And we’d only be 5 points clear if we lost and Juve beat Roma. I am hoping for a draw there, and an Inter win obviously. Thats will take us 10 points clear.

The upcoming Roma Juve fixture is a real pickle for me. I like Roma, but I like Inter better and we must increase our lead. So, Roma cannot win this weekend. On the other hand, I just cant bring myself to cheer for Juve. Emotionally, I want them to LOOSE LOOSE LOOSE – but that would be bad for the table. Clearly, the only acceptable ending is a draw.
This is a tough one. At least there will be no divided feelings for the Livorno – Inter game. WE WILL CRUSH THEM (knock on wood).
Oh, and the only team that can beet Inter is Inter. They have to keep their heads in the game and play like we all know they can.
FORZA US

Johonna- In this situation, I will be cheering for Juve. They are no threat to our position, win or lose. Roma isn’t much a threat either, being 8 points back, but they are more of a threat than Juve. So, a win by us (knock on wood) and a win by Juve may end the season.
FORZA US!!!!

I am going for a draw. I don’t want Roma to win for obvious reasons and I, plain and simple, hate Juventus. Can’t stand the thought of them winning.
