Ranieri was asked if not including Walter Samuel in the line-ups had been an error: "Probably..."

Also, he says he doubts Sneijder will be fit for Roma. I mean, Jesus... Sneijder is one of the 10 best players in the world right now, full stop. But even if Messi were injured as often and as easily as he is, people would start asking questions.

Fun match to watch, hate the result.  Defense really caught for lack of pace.  I cringe every time Ranocchia touches the ball, and while I love Lucio's runs, I just wonder what kind of space he's opening on the counter.  Cambiasso again showing why he shouldn't be in the attacking third.  Positives: Poli and Wes.

Its tough to play in those weather conditions. I thought we were going to lose since we had to come back twice from behind. I dont understand Ranieri's substitutions, I think he messed up today. Its nice to see Milito back to his old self, he was a freaking beast out there.

  • Drewsef

From what I've been told, goalkeeping in the snow is basically one step above goalkeeping blindfolded, so I excuse JC's match on account of that. The defenders I would let off less easily.

  • Never got to say - Drewsef, I loved your Motta piece, really excellent writing. I left a little mention in a piece I did for the Italy blog. Keep up the great stuff!

Hey, thanks dude, appreciate it. Football is one of those things that I've loved for a long time but rarely feel informed enough to write about aside from shit-talking comments and such, so it's nice to hear.

the CL squad: Forlan, Poli and Palombo added

How about we forget the league and focus on winning the CL title? no league, no coppa distraction, better first in Europe than 3rd in the league

UEFA should use it for ads: CL title - everything the 3rd place has to offer! And more

  • Nikko10

nuts. on a day Milan loses on top of that. When was the last time Inter player scored 4 goals?

  • Drewsef

Eto'o did last year, but it wasn't in Serie A. Think the last time it happened in Serie A was back in the Bobo-era.

  • SunRiver

I mentioned earlier this season that we and Roma share a lot of common issues. I do believe that the next game between the two teams will reflect on how much evolution of play and managerial harmony we reached since our last clash...

It's going to be a tricky game to predict.

One of the certainties is that the pitch will be different from the Meazza... maybe not, you can't really predict the weather.... so that was needless... I think.

  • kev9inter

Surprise surprise Maicon's form drops once he puts pen to paper on a new contract.

  • Mhd

    sigh*
whenever I think that we'r getting there my dreams gets destroyed for stupid mistakes.

Hey guys, so I had to go into a work meeting and missed the entire second half. Anything interesting happen?

Wait, what? He did what now...? Who...? How many...? Huh?

  • InterMAD

It was played in an ice rink while a snow storm hit. It probably shouldn't have been played but I give the guys a lot of credit for going out there and putting on a show while others are sitting at home or complaining about the weather in 3 days time.

In an unrelated note, skirts and slankets are going to be a third option on several teams not wearing black and blue next season.

  • PDubz18

Miccoli is Inter's enigma...that guy always seems to do everything right when he faces up against us.

  • InterMAD

I think it was the first goal, Ranocchia had him defended perfectly and the little bugger still put in a perfect shot. I think he's gone from Palermo next summer, they are going to be in the shit without him.

  • SunRiver

    One question....

    Why wasn't the ball red?

  • Cyclone99

    Plus the lines were pink.

  • InterMAD

Because the winter ball is yellow, I don't know why, it just is. Red makes sense though.

"In an unrelated note, skirts and slankets are going to be a third option on several teams not wearing black and blue next season." <-- huh?

  • Johnnywatts

Ranieri has never one or done anything. he will never! Lets hope he's not in Moratti's long term plans. What happened to Italian defending? Maybe, because we have Lucio and Maicon there.

  • kev9inter

Ranieri is nothing more than a short term coach he should be gone once the season has finished.

  • Elltron3030

    so painful! zero defence

  • I expected it with such sloppy conditions

  • Rano had a shocker

  • that was probably the stupidest match i have ever watched

  • Vinod

Wow, Poli's made the starting lineup and Palombo has already made the bench. Things are moving fast in Appiano suddenly. Viviano's starting for Palermo:

    Subs: 12 Castellazzi, 2 Cordoba, 26 Chivu, 17 Palombo, 20 Obi, 28 Zarate, 30 Castaignos.
    Coach: Claudio Ranieri.

    Palermo: 1 Viviano: 6 Munoz, 2 Mantovani, 3 Silvestre, 42 Balzaretti; 31 Pisano, 23 Donati, 5 E. Barreto; 14 Bertolo; 9 Budan, 10 Miccoli.
    Subs: 33 Tzorvas, 13 Aguirregaray, 17 Vazquez, 20 Acquah, 24 Mehmeti, 27 Ilicic, 31 Pisano.
    Coach: Bortolo Mutti.
