Jose on Chiambretti Night

Mourinho gets danced at

Wednesday night (April 1), Jose Mourinho was the guest on Chiambretti Nights – a sort of talk show with skits (think Parkinson and Graham Norton from the BBC meets Sabato Gigante from Univision). Mostly it is snarky chat, but then there are these interludes of dancing girls (or strange dancing men with matching sweaters) and “funny” videos. Fabio Capello was on it recently and they treated him to a lap dance (it was excruciating). Well, I guess Jose is in good company, then, because he got much the same treatment (if you want to skip ahead, it is in the last video). For those that are interested, here is the show. It is in nine parts, and in Italian, and worth a look.

  • Mourinho commented on his embarrassment during the ballet (Really, although she danced in her undies, she was quite a good dancer):

During Piero Chiambretti's show, your embarrassment during the dance of the ballerina was noticed. You were focused on everything else, what were you thinking?

"Nothing. I thought exactly what I said before: My natural habitat is the bench and the field. The bench during Sunday or Saturday, the field during the week. The press conference on the eve of the match is not my habitat but it is a routine that is repeated every week. For the rest, that kind of show is not my passion and you have reason, I was not at ease "

  • Actually, I think he came over quite well (Yes, I have watched the whole thing). Granted, my Italian sometimes let me down (the announcer speaks very quickly), but I could follow Mou pretty well and I thought he was great. He laughed at himself. He let some rabid Milan fan shout at him for 10 minutes - which he handled calmly and with aplomb... At the end, the host and audience agreed that he was molto simpatico.

If I was a more dedicated blogger, I would translate it. Unfortunately, I am not quite that good.

Was it, er, good TV, did he come over well? The bit I read he pretty much admitted that rant to the team about their cardboard scudetti was true. Lawsuit dropped then (if it ever began) And funnily the interviewer said he'd never had a guest who researched him rather than the other way around. Ah, typically meticulous.

more mou (no lap dancers this time sorry)

Wonder who has the oldest squad. contradicts his previous statements again (wish the interviewers would pick up on this)
Common sense would tell you MM can't keep spending more than Inter earns, but since when did common sense etc.

"they could develop talent on their own instead of always trying to take talent from Serie A"

Sound of bitter laughter from south america.

With adri he seems to have profound mental problems for which playing at a high level club like inter is not appropriate. He should go somewhere less stressful. Mou recognised this but the club either couldn't or wouldn't sell.

HOT DAMN that chick is fine !! How do I get a pass to that show ?

As for adri he'll fit in very well at United since their coach is an alcoholic too

  • Dave

Hopefully one of those jackals will take Adri

  • MAD

"Jackals" is a good word to describe the "people" of the BPL.

Perhaps if they are so much THE football league of Europe, they could develop talent on their own instead of always trying to take talent from Serie A...

  • And the jackals are after Maicon:

They can all just BACK OFF!

  • Alessandro

adriano is immature. you can't be a professional soccer player and party all the time. it doesn't go together. sell him asap

  • Oh my good lord but we need to sell Adriano this summer:

This is the second time he has missed the plane home from Brazil. How many planes has every other South American International missed this year? ZERO!

We so need to sell him while we can still get some money for him. I dont even care if he goes to Milan. He and Ronaldinho can party all night long. I am fed up.

  • Dave

We should have shows like this in the States! Id love to see Phil Jackson or Bill Parcells get a lapdance
