The only thing that is handy about cheap ebay jerseys is that you can ditch them when/if they become cursed. That is, if you happen to wear them on a game day and the team looses or someone is horribly injured. Clearly, the jersey is cursed (or the team would have won) so clearly it can never ever be worn during a game again. If you only spent $20 on the shirt, no big deal. I can just throw them away if I want (although I wonder if it would be better to burn them – sort of like retiring a flag or something).

I have a very sentimental Materazzi jersey that I never wear during games so it can never be cursed. It only goes on after the game in celebration. Marco only gets good juju!

Purportedly a group of ManCity fans are having them made for Robinho’s debut (against Chelsea).

The logistics of the counterfeit jersey market are quite impressive. It generally takes less than 20 days for the first knockoffs of a new major signing to appear at stalls here in Milano; there is already a glut of Ronaldinho 80s, and I expect the Quaresma ones to arrive shortly.

Shitty, brian. As the saying goes, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. I usually buy one Juve jersey per year but last year I bought two because I bought the first on eBay, decided to get a real one after. They look mostly accurate, the feel is way off and it’s usually printed logos instead of an actual ironed on one. If you’ve ever been to Italy, a lot of street vendors sell extremely similar ones for dirt cheap.

No, Crespo was on loan. When the loan ended (last year), Inter gave him a two year contract:

That’s exactly the confusion I was referring to.

It appears the deal was extended for a year at some point without it ever really being reported.

BTW, as if anyone needed further evidence of Johonna’s perspicacity, Mourinho has called both Mei and Santon in for training with the first team* this week.

* or what’s left of it; there are 9 guys on international duty and Adriano has been excused to deal with some “bureaucratic matters” (I can personally vouch for the fact that foreigners here need time off for that).

What I don’t understand about Crespo is I thought he was on a 2-year loan from Chelski, and this summer it expired as well as his contract with Chelsea.
