Ouch

Well, I guess now we know that Serie A will not be the cake-walk it has been for the last two years. As everyone knows, the Deby was Sunday and those uppity devils got one over on us. True, it was depressing - we (as fans and Inter as a team) had almost forgotten how to loose. This was a tragic, though necessary, reminder. You see, now we know what not to do. It has happened, and it sucked, so now we know not to go there again.

Picking the Scab

It was bad all around. Not only plain icky but truly horrendous. And I am not the only one who thinks so. Here is Le Pagelle from the Corriere dello Sport:

7 Julio Cesar - Dopo la grandissima parata sulla prima stoccata di Ronaldinho, resta immobile sul colpo di testa vincente di Dinho.
Salva la sua porta in almeno un altro paio di occasioni.
6,5 Maicon - Trova ampi varchi sulla sua corsia, ma non li sfrutta fino in fondo.
6,5 Cambiasso - E’ l’unico centrocampista che mantiene sempre una certa lucidità e una buona continuità di rendimento, prezioso pure in difesa anche se perde Ronaldinho sul gol.
6 Ibrahimovic - Fa tutto da solo, riceve pochi palloni. Abbiati gli nega soddisfazioni più concrete.
6 Zanetti - Stranamente offre una prestazione di scarso contenuto.
6 Cruz - Cerca di dare profondità all’attacco interista durante il disperato assalto finale.
5,5 Chivu - Gattuso lo costringe a non avanzare troppo il baricentro dell’azione offensiva. Zambrotta quando affonda lo mette in difficoltà.
5,5 Mourinho ( all.) - Prima sconfitta, quella che brucia di più, nel derby.
5 Burdisso - Provvidenziale il salvataggio su Pato, ma resta ancora una volta vittima della sua eccessiva irruenza. Espulso.
5 Materazzi - Lento, macchinoso, riesce nell’impresa di farsi espellere quando è in panchina dopo il cambio.
5 Vieira - E’ troppo impacciato, risente probabilmente della quinta partita consecutiva in due settimane.
5 Stankovic - Commette un fallaccio su Kakà che meriterebbe il cartellino «rosso». Se la cava con il «giallo».
5 Mancini - Perde quota quasi subito e sparisce.
5 Adriano - Fallisce clamorosamente l’occasione per pareggiare.
5 Quaresma - La trivela serve a poco, il portoghese è spaesato, inefficace.

5,5 Morganti - Sia il Milan che l’Inter protestano per due gomitate in area.

Lets face it, I thought they were being nice. We are so far off last-years pace it is not even funny:

What are we going to do about it? For a start, we are going to kick some German ass this Wednesday. I am sure another win will get everyone feeling much better in front of our match against Bologna (who have already beaten Milan). Then, when we meet Bologna, we are going to show them what it means to be the champions of Italy and trounce them soundly. So, lets all buck up and get on with it.
