By: Johonna | November 14th, 2008
What: Palermo v Inter
When: Sat Nov 15 2008 20:30 local time (11:30am Pacific; 2:30pm Eastern)
Where: Stadio “Renzo Barbera”, Palermo
Referee: Paolo Tagliavento
How to Watch: Streaming or “live” on Fox Soccer Channel
——————
Historically, Inter usually win this fixture. True, last year all we managed was a 0-0 draw (see highlights below), but in the 8 games since Palermo’s return to the Serie A in 2004/5, Inter have won 5 and drawn 3. As I said, this fixture last year was one of those draws (sorry for the quality, this was the best I could find):
Mou has called up 21 players for the game:
Goalkeepers: Toldo, Julio Cesar, Orlandoni.
Defenders: Cordoba, Maxwell, Maicon, Burdisso, Samuel, Materazzi, Santon.
Midfielders: Zanetti, Stankovic, Vieira, Cambiasso, Muntari, Bolzoni, Mancini.
Strikers: Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Obinna, Balotelli.
Notice that Adriano and Quaresma are not on the list. Apparently Adriano would have been called up had he not come down with the flu and Quaresma has been given a couple of days off to go see his family in Portugal. Mou said:
We have a very strong group of strikers and I can’t call them all up. Adriano would have been there if he hadn’t had the flu. I gave Quaresma the chance to get away from football for three days because he lives alone here in Italy and I wanted him to return to his family for a few days. Next week will be an important week for him. There are national team games two days before the Juventus match. A lot of players will be away and Quaresma will be an important option for us.
So I guess that means he will not be playing for Portugal. Poor kid. Italy has not been easy for him.
Another bonus: Muntari is back from injury! I dont know if he will start, but I do expect to see him take the field.
On the downside, Burdisso is on the list. I hope he is just there as a back-up to the back-up. Yikes.
Well, I need to wrap this up. I have theater tickets for tonight and I really must change. If you, like me, are interested in all sorts of comparative statistics, check out this pdf.
I see no reason why we cannot come back from Sicily with 3 points. True, Palermo have been doing well, especially at home, but so had Udinese and we managed to take full points from them. The boys are rested and in good spirits - there is nothing like a whole week of training to get things clicking.
Ciao Ragazzi, fino a domani…
FORZA INTER

MAD I said he had about 9 goals not 9 goals exact.
So,
A.) You are an idiot because you can’t read
B.) He had 18 serie a goals last season and 8 were penalties.
C.) Ibra scored more penalties then Juve were awarded penalties.
D.) You complain about how much Roma fans whine.
E.) You are the biggest whining bitch of them all (whining about how much they whine)And I’m sure I left something out, this is no where near enough shit to sum you up. You piece of shit.

“I just found it funny last year how you inter people wanted a fair league then 2 months into the league Ibra was top scorer with about 9 goals and 8 being penalties.”
“B.) He had 18 serie a goals last season and 8 were penalties.”
Changing the argument because you were wrong about everything you said? No surprise. You said he had x, knowing that you were wrong. He had y. That makes you lying and stupid for taking the three extra seconds to look it up. The proof is above.
“MAD I said he had about 9 goals not 9 goals exact”
He had seven. That means you can’t read or count. You are unapologetic about being wrong so makes you a Juventus supporter… ie… a lying cheater who likes to hide his head in the sand rather than own up to his mistakes.
“Ibra scored more penalties then Juve were awarded penalties.”
Do that for 20 years and then we are even. Do it for one season, bah, it makes you a cry baby too.
“You complain about how much Roma fans whine.”
I don’t. Not even once. You can look it up. I just call them idiots for not actually paying attention to real events instead of believing everything Chris writes.. which is almost always wrong.
So actually reenforce the idea that you can’t comprehend anything… don’t you?! This is great.
“You are the biggest whining bitch of them all”
Repost for me an example of me whining. I would love to read it.
Considering how you can’t read, comprehend writing nor count, I am not going to worry about this one. Considering I don’t whine. I just give my opinion, use facts to back it up and recite history.
The fact that you come here to do all this makes you the bitch.

Can’t wait…Mancini and Quaresma? Please, they’ve flopped harder than Tiago. Ibra? Big-game choker extraordinaire.

Damn typo:
… says the person with Andrade on his team…

Btw, how long was Tiago on Juventus?
Was it longer than 2.5 months?

Andrade didn’t flop, he just has aids.

He has AIDS? I thought he was just injured a lot.
So I guess he’s a Juventus success then?

Can we please talk smack after the game next weekend? Seriously, is what your arguing about right now significant in any way? Really annoying comming here to try and discuss football and see bickering going on like 13 year olds.

I don’t know what their problem is. I am agreeing with them that they are going to win.

“get off your high horse”
I was never on a horse. It’s you, and mini you (please note that was a joke), who feel the need to go on and on. And don’t play the plusvalanze card. There are about 164000 teams (including 5 or 6 other Serie A clubs that were reported) that pull that shit. Its near impossible to prove. It is hardly the offense that match fixing and doping are. Only you tried to blow it wayyyyyy out of proprtion trying to believe it was something it was’t. It was investigated and went unpunished :).
Adam, the league was fair. The penalties that were awarded were penalties. So what?! Ibra was the designated peantly taker and was good at converting them. It was you people that created the fuss (and stories) and resorted to having shit fits that they were favourable calls to help Inter win. You could not stand the fact Inter were never implicated in any type of Match Fixing scandal and were in deep denial about it and desperately tried un-cover a non existent conspiracy… More than once! If I were you I wouldn’t be so quick to tell people to visit a psychiatrist ;). We don’t feel the need to have to keep talking about it or mentioning it and are completely fine with the way the cookie crumbled. There was never a doubt in my mind that Inter were the best team in the league and deserved to win the title. I don’t need to be re-assured of that, nor do I need I depserately need people to agree with me.
Kevin, sorry. You are right. Sunday’s match has nothing to with what they want to keep brining up. For some reason they feel they must. I think for them to gain full closure on the issue they need us to concede that their made up stories are true.
Rather than angle the match as one that is going to be won by the team with the bigger brief case lets break it down in actual football terms.

Inter were the best team….

Actually, MAD, the Gazzetta had a story last year about how last season was the most altered by referee errors in 30-40 years.
Posted from

Precisely! It was just a story. Like their re-written table. What cold hard facts did La Gazzetta have? And for them to be as vague as “30-40 years” leads me to believe they have ZERO credibility and haven’t a clue about what they were saying.
What you are miserably failing to realize is even if there were errors made, they WERE NOT preconceived nor were they paid for like they once were.
Find us one professional sports league in the world where an officiating crew has a had a flawless season. After you find that, find us a league, or another newspaper for that matter, that keeps stats, going back 30-40 years, on those officitaing crews and how the number of good calls versus bad calls varied in that time.

30-40 years wasn’t from the Gazzetta, it was my bullshit memory-guestimate.
I’m not saying Inter cheated, or the referees should be flawless, but it was one of the worst on record. Why? I think because of Calciopoli they canned a crapload of referees, god knows they pushed it through as fast as they could, so it was mostly new guys at work. I think they’ve been a lot better this year.

I just read an article with Chiellini claiming that Ibra is “the best striker in Italy”. Let the mind games begin!
Sorry Giorgio, I doubt Ibra will take it easy on you after you tried to take his head off last year

“Actually, MAD, the Gazzetta had a story last year about how last season was the most altered”
Right, it was altered more than the MATCH FIXING. :\
Times like this, I like to think for myself, thanks.

“The Memo is out: Milan gifted 8 points this season and it’s only week 12.”
lol…must be familiar to you, mad. looks like the same memo that was issued last season to inter only it lasted into week 38. you bitch about others making these ‘unfounded’ claims, yet here you are…..nevermind. it’s hardly a surprise.
