I’m forced to watch all my calcio on FSC. Anyone else notice a pro-Roma bias by FSC commentators? Or am I just paranoid?

My cable company dropped RAI this year, though, so we could have another high definition golf channel and I refuse to have one of those ugly dishes hanging off my house, so…. I get nothing and I miss it.

I’m also sad we’re at the end of the season. I’ll have to make due with MLS games, yuck. I’m trying to get excited about MSL ’cause my home town is getting a MLS team. I’m sure going to the games will be more fun than watching MLS on TV.

Also, congrats to Man U. for their EPL win. Go reds!

The Lucarelli penalty… both FSC announcers said at the time looking at the replay that it was a good non-call..

But we don’t take FSC seriously? Ok, La Gazzetta agreed and said this morning that Lucarelli was already falling and it shouldnt have been given

But of course they’re biased (La Gazzetta dell’Inter) so let’s go to Il Corriere (practically Roma’s hometown paper). Again, a 7 for Rocchi and no complaints over either of the penalties not given. Same thing, no penalty. Lucarelli was already falling.

At least one of the guys on Domenica Sportiva thought it was a penalty, the host pointed out that Lucarelli was already falling.

Regardless of what you think after watching it 100 times in slow-mo, it would have been absolutely ridiculous to call in this circumstance, in real-time.

La Gazzetta agreed with Rocchi’s non-call on the Materazzi push on Coly in the area. Domenica Sportiva said the contact wasn’t much and Corriere said Materazzi leaned a little but didn’t take Rocchi to task for not calling it.

The one (and only) episode that, seen as an isolated incident, people could take issue with is the Materazzi’s foul on Budan. It was dangerous, two-footed and he was the last man. Probably should have been a red BUT (as DS documented and the sports dailies mentioned) it was completely consistent with how Rocchi refereed tht match on both sides. There was an elbow by Couto on Maicon in like the first minute, an elbow by Vieira, a very hard challenge on Balotelli on the sidelines, Balotelli getting blatantly tripped from behind by a defender who was on the ground, and a hard challenge by Cesar. Rocchi had established throughout the whole match that he was NOT giving a red, and it would of been very unfair after letting so much go to send off Materazzi (who in his defense at least grazed the ball sort of)

Interisti see things one way, Romanisti another, but to make it seem like this was highway robbery that everyone witnessed is absurd…
