DONT JINX IT MAD!

I am sure Anorthosis will be hard - we will be lucky to take a point (looking around to see if the calcio gods are appeased).

By the way, speaking of Champions League, if we manage to win our game against Anorthosis-- and I know nothing about them or how good they are-- how good can life get?

Top of league, top of group.

UEFA had nice things to say about us:

Inter cruise
Chelsea FC increased their goal difference lead in the Premier League by winning 5-0 at Middlesbrough FC while Liverpool FC remain level on points after two late goals gave them a 3-2 victory against Wigan Athletic FC in the latest of series of timely comebacks this season. Wayne Rooney scored twice in Manchester United FC's 4-0 win against West Bromwich Albion FC while Arsenal FC overturned a half-time deficit to beat Everton FC 3-1.

But Inter stole the Sunday headlines with four unanswered goals at AS Roma, one of five UEFA Champions League contenders to taste defeat this weekend, including Club Atlético de Madrid, beaten 2-1 by city rivals Real Madrid CF.

You know, all summer this idiot was talking about how Roma was going to finally beat Inter this year, and I didn't really care.

The highlight of our season is winning the Scudetto, going far into Champions League and hopefully beating Milan.

Anyway, this guy keeps going on all summer about how we stink, blah, blah, yakkity, schmackity.

He talks about how great he is and his club is... despite the fact that he personally hasn't won a sausage and his club has yet to beat the achievements of Pro Vercelli!

He finally gets his chance to show the world how great his side is and how he was robbed last year and then he gets blasted 4-0 AT HOME!

But he wasn't just beaten... Maicon missed 2 beautiful chances... it could just as easily have been 6-0. Cambiasso and Muntari in the midfield were suffocating. Ibra and Quaresma pushed the ball into the Roma third quickly and with nice passes.

Anyway, here's "Curly Spaz" and his take on the game. Is this guy even watching the game, or is the glare from his head too blinding? Notice how he never mentions an unjust ruling, which we all know from last year he would if he thought it was:

“Clearly the match was decided by a couple of distractions and Inter know how to keep hold of a result. It seems a very harsh scoreline to me, as we had chances and did not take them, whereas our opponents were more clinical,” said the Coach.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic sprung the offside trap thanks to Cicinho's error just five minutes in and doubled the advantage 90 seconds after the restart.

“The second goal was similar to the first, as we should have been more concentrated, otherwise players of this level will punish you."

Alessio, the point is that Zanetti is a midfielder and Chivu is a leftback (or is it right), not a central defender.

The whole thing about "if Julio Ceasr was not in goal" or when the say "if it wasnt for Ibra"... Well, that is sort of the point - Inter is a better team. Why are we better? Because of players like Ibra and JC. Duh.
And then there is Maicon, and Cordoba, and Muntari, and Cambiasso, and... well, I think you get the point. People act like having squad members who actually are good at their job is somehow cheating.

I'd say Chivu and J. Zanetti are regular enough that they can be considered 1st teamers.

But I agree with the sentiment. A 1-0, 2-1, 2-0 loss could be blamed on injuries. But 4-0 is just plain falling apart.

It is entertaining, though.

I love how they are blaming the bad start to injuries.

Good thing we don't have those, huh.

Oh and on a side note these are the 2nd teamers we started on the field tonight:

Zanetti as a fullback

Chivu as a central defender

Stankovic as a midfielder

Obinna as a winger

Would you consider Quaresma as a starter? I would say, in the rotation.

Yep, Roma would be the only team with injuries...

Oh and Johonna, could I request a post with a picture or clip that gives back a little abuse to the Roma side considering all the shit they have been talking this week.

Johonna, I so read those posts. I also read the post that KJ mentioned about Inter getting all the bounces. I also read others that stated if Julio Ceasr was not in goal it would be 4-4, or how they hung around and made it tough. They'd rather make up stories than deal with reality.

Hey, if they can't come to grips with the fact that the line that "someone" supposedly drew was actually drawn by some sort of technical software, or the fact that the line shows exactly where Cicinho is on the pitch, and that the shaded area is actually the offside area... its no one's problem but their own. They can ask for more pictures all they want... IBRA WAS ONSIDE!! If they thought they played as well as Inter and deserved to win if it werent for Julio Cesar then let them think it. The best bounces Inter got were when the ball would bounce in the back of the net behind Doni!! Those must be the tons of bounces they were talking about.

I wonder how long its going to take for them realize what we have been trying to tell them before the season started? Roma is not that good of a team and to make matters worse they have no depth. As I predicted, teams like Napoli, Lazio, Fiorentina, Udinese have been more impressive and have opened a decent gap in points over them. Roma has already lost 4 games this season and we just finished round 7. They only lost 4 games all of last season.

I wonder if they actually think they have a shot a beating Chelsea.
