Which begs the question: just how good *was* Burdisso during training, that Mourinho would pick him over Materazzi? I mean, Matrix isn’t exactly incapable of helping with the attack.

Well I guess that Mancini did make it. As did Jimenez! We could use a young offensively minded midfielder! Noticed that Toldo is not on the list. Has anyone heard that he was injured?

Onward to the Napoli game. I guess we won’t be seeing RQ, Baloteli or Materazzi on the field. I wonder if Mancini will make it.

“Jose Mourinho drops Ricardo Quaresma, Mario Balotelli and Marco Materazzi for the Napoli clash, but doesn’t believe the Panathinaikos defeat will distract Inter.
The Special One is increasingly ruthless with his squad when they do not perform up to the standards he seeks and this weekend cut another two stars.

“They are out because this week, both in the match situation and during training, they did not work sufficiently hard,” said the Coach.

“I left Materazzi out because, with [Ivan] Cordoba and [Walter] Samuel first choice centre-backs, I need [Nicolas] Burdisso on the bench.

“Marco played very well against Juve and also impressed with Panathinaikos, but tomorrow I want more attacking options and Burdisso can be a full-back or a midfielder too.”

I think I read that the Tottenham/Balotelli thing would be a loan.

My favorite Adraino rumor is that he is going to Milan. I think that was a goal.com thing. Super funny.

On an unrelated matter, La Gazzetta has a nice interview with Samuel. He thinks that, while the long injury lay-off was hard on him, it has extended his career.

I am just glad he is back.

I would like to see RQ and Deki in this game. Both have played well as of late and I would like to see if the two of them can create something on the offensive end.

Just because part of Mourinho’s success lies in his unpredictability I see a return to the 4-3-3/4-5-1 hybrid. RQ on the wing with Adriano and Ibra up top.

I am almost tempted to say Deki in the middle with Cambiasso and Muntari on either side pinched in holding the midfield… if it wasn’t for Zanetti being able to cover Maicon’s zone when Maicon makes a frequent run.

More on the rumor mill/unsubstantiated fiction pages. Tottenham apparently have the juice to make a grab at Balotelli and/or Adriano. Yep, the same Tottenham that had something like 2 points after 8 rounds in England.

Next week, Nottingham Forest will be rumored to be close to signing Ibra.

It did indeed , but like you im not all too worried about this I believe we’ll bounce back against napoli the players know they’ve disappointed a lot of people by having their thanksgiving holiday on the pitch the other day they will and MUST make it up to us or else mourinho might just do a fergie and throw his boot at their faces

If I’ were choosing the line up for this upcoming game I’d go with this

I think the silver lining here is that this loss will really refocus our team. We have got such a great squad and I just love seeing them play. I’ve got so much confidence in our team right now that I’m not too worried about the defeat. By the way, did this loss ruin Mou’s record of no home game defeats? Ouch.

It was a bad performance but we qualified with a game in hand which isnt bad at all. This just give our critics more ammunition though. Figo didn’t look good at all but it was his first game back.

Luckily Anothorsis and Bremen drew so we don’t have the weight of qualifying hanging over our heads while we enter a tough stretch domestically. Napoli is very strong but if they come to attack we’ll thrash em. They have been talking as if they will so that bodes well for us.
