it is the 3rd training match of the season.

you are watching an inter that, maybe, are at 60% and they just played 2 nights ago. I expected a bit more in the 1st half but not much more. Just some decent passing and a little more movement.

Ibra should not be on the pitch at all. His appearance is probably to satisfy fans.

It’s unfair to expect them to go out play their asses off. Maybe Vieira had a purpose out there tonight, Nico and a few youngsters too bit everyone else is trying to find legs and rythm still.

Inter is like a Chihuahua trying to snarl at a bulldog. Milito should have stayed at Genoa. Inter needs tough, burly players and a major attitude transplant. Champions of Italy ?! They make the Calcio look like a provincial league, I am sorry. My God ! All the young lads who never get games Sturridge, Di Santo so confident and playing Inter as if it were a Malaysia XI side ! Geez. This is super annoying. Consolation is that Lucio is yet to play, but Milito they could have paid that money for Eto’o and not have to sell Ibra ! I can’t stop. This has soured my week !

belec – his fault for the 1st goal, but he’s excusable. whats not excusable is the mentality going into the game. i see this every CL game. midfielders have no one to pass to but back to the centerbacks and vice versa. chelsea got 2 lucky goals but they dominated. they were better physically and technically.

we missed maicon and jC out there, and we’re toothless upfront. maybe if mourinho tried to play 4-5-1, he should have used balotelli and quaresma on the flanks instead of obi and zanetti. balotelli cant protect the ball.

yeah i feel you jojo milan. I mean i wouldnt have been so pissed at us if we played well but the way we played was so bad that it was worse then how italy played in that friendly match against new zealand. We played so badly that we deserved to lose by more then 3 goals. I am furious at mourinho and at the players and its only the third match of preseason. They have disgraced the club and its fans those players have and i wont forgive them until they prove me wrong

surely you chaps are going to take some of that €40m+ we’re handing you and buy a midfield with it? Eto’o is all well and good, but Eto’o without the ball is as useless as Diego Milito without the ball. and right now, it doesn’t seem as though your biggest problem is that Inter aren’t capable of possessing the ball in midfield and getting it to the feet of your strikers. Viera is a dinosaur (he does look a bit like some kind of Apatosaurus), Motta is not very good, and Cambiasso, though quality, is no creative genius. you can’t rely on an 18 year old and an ephemeral Quaresma to stitch your midfield and attack together. in other words: you may need Hleb more than all of us thought you might.

    Yikes, all the drama here…

Without looking at the name at the top one would think that this was the Roma board.

Folks, I don’t think that winning this game or the last game was a priority.

Players linked with transfers out were given extensive playing time this week as a message to potential buyers. We are prepares to keep and play these players and we are not bargaining from a position of need.

Young guys like Obi and Belec were given a lot of time as this might be their only chance to play.

And seriously, when was the last time Balotelli was the lone striker in any game we played last year?

We a lot of summer pre-season to get through and a lot of players to look at.

P.S. The english teams may have only started a week or so before us, but their season starts something like 2 weeks before Serie A does. They should have more intensity as they have to be ready before we do…

Yep, looked like Chelsea cared a LOT more than your lads did. But was fun to see the little Ibra moments. I still can’t believe that this deal is going to happen. But if it does, I think that both clubs will benefit. Hleb will start for you, because of the invaluable midfield creativity he brings.

    If it happens. Stay tuned.

I don’t see how this deal doesn’t happen now.

Have we crossed the Rubicon? Probably not, but if it doesn’t happen, Ibra is gonna be messed up for a while and the front office will probably have to put the brakes on about 3 other plans to use that money…

And that’ll suck for us, too.

Hokay. I am back from the game. Wow. I dont even know what happened exactly except it was very frustrating that we could not even score after they had put their youth team out.
We had a couple chances but no one was willing (or able) to capitalize on them. I dont think we had more than one shot on target.

And as for the posts from the game, sometimes it was just too painful to watch. The phone was a nice distraction.

Oh, and Lampard is a dick. I am glad he did not come to Inter.

Oh, and how weird is this? Before the game, I was taking pictures of the bench and Marco was their being hugged by Malcolm McDowell. McDowell even ruffled Marco’s hair.

    Who knew?

Is there a positive from this game? Yes, just one: Vieira might just have something left in him. He was probably the only Inter player who wasn’t bad today. Fought for the ball constantly, held onto possession, showed some nice touches, and actually lasted 90 intense minutes despite this being pre-season. He showed lots of glimpses of the Vieira that was a legend at Highbury. I’m actually rethinking my hardline stance on wanting his old ass out of here. With the World Cup coming, he might just pick himself up from the slump he’s been in and become that great player again. Or maybe I’m just being overly optimistic, and reality will sink in again soon.

Can’t believe this happens , i know Morrati is watching and he nows knows that Obi isn’t ready yet so needs to buy a play maker i don’t think Cassano is enough this match was so poor from Inters side that it could make them sack a coach even though it was a friendly , how on earth could our midfield not supply any good pass to Barwauh for the 1st half Obi passed the ball to the opponent more then he passed it to his own team GOD !! and u think having Cassano and Hleb will be enough no it will not be enough 1# Hleb at Inter will be trying to find his form he isn’t on great peak to start the season at a high note and he will need to find his form this means don’t expect bang from him starting the season 2# Cassano will only shine brightly if he plays in a team that all play involve around him and it has happen many times when he move to a big club . This team is so poor that at times i feel it isn’t worth supporting a team that the manager is ready to meet the team obligation and buy what seems needed but rather sell and see stupidly . How can u sell maxwell for 4.5. million how much is even Gudjohnson . Morrati is a prick.those that were bashing Mourinho not to buy Deco/Carvelho what do u think now ha just because of 15 Mil Inter didn’t buy them smile . My hat down to Belac and Khrin who were for me impressive but why didn’t Destro play isn’t he suppose to be our promising boy why does Obi ,Khrin get all the chances and he doesn’t.

Agreed ForReal, I was wanting to see Destro in action.

I disagree about Obi though. My main problem with his game was that he never made a forward pass. 60% of the passes he completed had to been back to Chivu (who I think had a good game). I’m sure he was just intimidated and Chelsea was pressing REALLY hard.

Even Javier and Cambiasso had some uncharacteristic bad touches. Santon, too. I keep telling myself “it was ust preseason. Breathe.” But if I drive 22 hrs to see THAT in Boston, I might be a lil pissed.

ForReal, I think you hit on the only important point of this game: Moratti is watching. Mou knows that too. This was his “See, I told you we’re not good enough yet” moment. Whether thats to cover his own behind for CL failure or to “encourage” the addition of Mou’s choice players, I dont know.

I think the real disappointment of the night with Inter v. Chelsea was that it basically looked like they just didn’t care. And the only player with some class, enough to care, was Viera.

It was hard to watch. Very, very hard to watch.

@ForReal: You make some good points. However I agree with SS on Obi. Also, I think that the point you mention about Cassano, that the team needs to built around him – well, I don’t see why that isn’t possible? Do we really have anyone apart from Balotelli who can currently do things with the ball? Quaresma’s looking slightly better, but he still has a long way to go. So if Cassano does arrive, he will easily be the most experienced and in-form creative force at Inter, and since Mourinho loves him like crazy, I can definitely see the team being built around him.

Last night i watched the game and inter played some good passes on the first 10 minutes and other 80 inter didnt play only VIERA played vs chelsea, very sad as an inter fan we have no midfield at all we need the DECO kind of style to pass the balls to our strikers and we will score a lots of goals we need a smart offensive midfielder and that is xavi or iniesta to bad we cant have them so i think we gonna end up playing the long ball game like in the past…

I am watching the game again right now and what stands out to me is that we have very few shots on goal. We need to actually kick the ball at the net occasionally.
